Indoor Air Quality Cleaner Air, Healthier Home
Nevada County summers bring wildfire smoke. Sierra winters bring dry indoor air. Year-round, our region carries pollen loads that punish anyone with allergies. Standard 1-inch furnace filters cannot keep up with any of that. We design and install indoor air quality systems that actually move the needle — measurable improvements in air cleanliness, humidity, and seasonal comfort.
What we handle
- High-efficiency whole-home filtration (MERV 13-16) — captures wildfire smoke particulates, pollen, dust
- HEPA-grade filtration for serious allergy and asthma cases
- UV-C lamp installation in the ductwork — kills mold spores and bacteria as air passes
- Whole-home humidifiers (winter) and dehumidifiers (humid microclimates)
- Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) for tight modern homes that need fresh air
- Carbon and odor filtration for smoke-prone homes
Common signs you might need this
- Allergies or asthma symptoms worse indoors than outdoors
- Visible dust accumulating quickly after cleaning
- Persistent musty smells around vents
- Dry skin, static, and cracked wood furniture in winter
- Smoke smell during fire season even with windows closed
- Family members get colds back-to-back through the winter

Frequently asked
Does a high-MERV filter actually help with wildfire smoke?
Yes — MERV 13 and above captures the fine particulates (PM2.5) that make wildfire smoke harmful. We install filtration upgrades specifically rated for smoke filtration. Combined with sealing your ducts, you can keep indoor air clean even when the AQI outside is in the red.
Do UV lights really do anything?
UV-C lamps installed correctly in the ductwork or near the evaporator coil kill mold and bacteria as air circulates. They are not a magic solution but they meaningfully reduce mold colonization on the coil itself, which is one of the biggest hidden contributors to bad indoor air.
Will an air quality upgrade affect my heating and cooling efficiency?
Higher-MERV filters can restrict airflow if your blower motor is not sized for them. Part of our assessment is verifying your blower can handle the filtration upgrade — and recommending a blower upgrade if needed before installing the filter.
Do I need a whole-home humidifier in Nevada County?
During winter cold snaps, indoor humidity can drop to 15-20% — uncomfortable and hard on wood floors and furniture. A whole-home humidifier added to your furnace solves it. Not strictly necessary, but a noticeable comfort upgrade.
